Nadia Shaiq is the Chief Executive Officer of ISANA, a non-profit charter management organization that runs a network of public charter schools in Los Angeles. As CEO, she advocates for transformative education in traditionally underserved areas, focusing on empowering students to reach their highest potential by valuing and making space for their backgrounds, cultures, and languages as assets to learning. Under her leadership, ISANA has emphasized a “whole child, whole family” approach, receiving awards both for being California Distinguished Schools and for educational equity. Nadia began her career as a first-grade teacher and advanced through various roles, including Curriculum Specialist, Principal and Chief Academic Officer. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Cognitive Science, graduating Summa Cum Laude from the University of California, San Diego, and a Master’s degree in Education. She continues to champion educational equity, striving to create learning environments where every student is seen, supported, belongs, and is empowered to make the world a better place. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and four kids, who are the lights of her life. She and her husband are also foster parents and are heavily involved in their community.
