Diverse Speaker Guidelines
I. Statement of Purpose: CSDC believes that increasing speaker diversity improves the value of the content by offering varied ideas and experiences. CSDC is committed to hosting speakers and events that reflect the diversity of the charter sector. As such, CSDC is actively promoting diversity through its speaking opportunities and educational programs.II. Diversity Data: CSDC is gathering data in 2023 by asking our presenters and attendees to self-identify (with the option of opting out of participating) as members of a marginalized or underrepresented persons or groups which include but are not limited to:
- People of color
- Women
- People who identify as LGBTQ+
- People with a disability
III. Defined Goals: CSDC will use the data collected in 2023 to continue tracking progress toward our goal to host events that are intentionally representative of the charter schools in California.
IV. 2023 Diversity Guidelines: CSDC asks that all proposals submitted through the Call for Proposals include a concerted effort to increase the diversity of the speakers and perspectives involved in the program.
