Q: Where and when will the conference take place?

The 2023 CSDC Conference will be held at the Anaheim Convention Center from Wednesday, November 8 with programming beginning at 9:45AM - Friday, November 10 closing at 1:45PM. During Friday’s plenary session, CSDC will acknowledge the contributions and sacrifices of our country’s current military personnel and veterans. We thank you.

Q: What is the purpose of the CSDC Conference?

The CSDC conference provides comprehensive training, resources and analysis of the current, major fiscal, policy, and regulatory trends affecting California charter schools for charter leaders in all stages of their careers.

Q: Who is CSDC?

In addition to being a critical voice, ally, and advocate at the Capitol, CSDC has defined high quality charter school leader training for thirty years. CSDC is proud to offer a menu of training opportunities which include but are not limited to the CSDC Conference. We also annually host the Leadership Intensive (LI), Charter Business Officer (CBO) Training Program, Online Governance Academy, and our newly-minted HR Academy.

Charter school executive-level leaders including executive directors, CEOs, business and operational leaders and staff, emerging leaders within charter organizations, board members, administrators, political leaders, and business partners.

Q: Will sessions be recorded?

With the exception of the Leadership Update Presentation, no sessions will be recorded at the 2023 CSDC Conference.

Q: What is a Summit?

Summits are offered exclusively on Wednesday, November 8, 9:30AM - 4:00PM and are focused on a particular topic or role within a charter organization. Summits require pre-registration and are included in full conference registration or the single day rate for Wednesday, November 8. Lunch will be served to Summit participants and CSDC will host a Welcome Happy Hour that participants are encouraged to attend.

Q: What is a workshop?

Workshops are offered exclusively on Wednesday, November 8 in a 3-hour format, 1:00 - 4:00PM, allowing for in-depth content. Workshops require pre-registration and are included in full conference registration or the single day rate for Wednesday, November 8. Lunch will not be served to workshop participants but CSDC will host a Welcome Happy Hour that participants are encouraged to attend.

Q: What is a breakout session?

Breakout sessions are 75-minutes long and cover myriad topics critical to charter school operations. Breakouts are presented throughout the event and do not require pre-registration.

Q: What is a Learning Lab?

Learning Labs are 45-minutes long and are presented in the exhibit hall during exhibit hall hours.

Q: Is CSDC's Annual Leadership Update Presentation taking place over two days this year?

Yes. This year’s Leadership Update Presentation will take place over two days– Thursday, November 9 and Friday, November 10 during the plenary session.

Q: Can I share the documents offered at this conference with colleagues from schools that are not registered?

No. All documents and templates provided to participants at the 2023 CSDC Conference are for the exclusive use of the organizations in attendance. Sharing of materials is strictly prohibited unless formal permission is granted by the presenter and/or CSDC.
