Eliminate the Grind: Using AI to Elevate Impact Across Your School
This interactive, role-based workshop is designed to help charter school professionals reduce burnout and increase impact by strategically applying AI and automation. Participants will break into groups by role to map their work into three categories: C work (repetitive, low-skill, ideal for automation), B work (mid-skill, trainable or augmentable), and A work (high-value, mission-critical, and personally fulfilling). Through guided collaboration, each group will identify which tasks should be eliminated, automated, delegated, or elevated—and begin building an implementation plan to make it happen.
In this session, participants will be exposed to a wide range of practical tools and real-life examples, with presenters from multiple charter schools and support organizations sharing solutions already in use. Live “hot seat” demonstrations will show how AI can instantly reduce workload in real scenarios. The session will conclude with a focus on community building, cross-role collaboration, and ongoing support through resources like the AI & EdTech MasterMind forum, EdTech Library, and a solution provider directory.
Participants will walk away with 3 takeaways:
- A clear breakdown of their work by value and automation potential—C, B, and A—and a personalized action plan to shift time toward high-impact tasks.
- Exposure to AI-powered tools and strategies that other charter schools are using to reduce C work, streamline B work, and elevate A work.
- Access to an implementation support network including peer forums, curated resources, and trusted solution providers.

Superintendent & CEO
Compass Charter Schools
I have over twenty-five years of experience working in charter schools in California. My experience includes positions as a teacher, site level administrator, and district level administrator in both classroom and virtual settings. I currently serve as the Superintendent of Compass Charter Schools, serving over 2,000 scholars grades TK-12 in a virtual setting. I am an advocate for charter schools because I believe that parents should be able to choose the educational setting that best fits the needs of their children, regardless of where they live. I am currently the Charter Representative on the Small School Districts’ Association Board of Directors, a member of the Reaching At-Promise Students Board of Directors, and a member of the APlus+ Advisory Committee. These roles allow me to advocate for charter schools on multiple fronts.
