Credential Essentials: Compliant Assignments During a Teacher Shortage
Since the launch of CalSAAS, compliance with a labyrinth of credentialing rules and avoiding misassignments has become more important than ever. Meanwhile, California’s dire teacher shortage has made it highly challenging for many charter schools to manage their master schedule and match teachers with classrooms.
In this session, the presenters will walk through assignment requirements and the alphabet soup of options that can sometimes save the day in a bind, including local assignment options, STSP, PIPs, TCCs, waivers, appeals, and handling unique courses like team-taught courses, independent study, and online courses.
