Karen holds the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation. She also serves as Board President for (PARMA) Public Agency Risk Management Association whose mission is dedicated to the professional development of all California public agency personnel with responsibility for risk management.

Pat is a partner at Lynberg & Watkins and was admitted to the California bar in 1981 after graduating from University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. She has spent over 20 years defending charter schools and public entities in actions involving childhood sexual abuse, civil rights, personal injury, premises liability and employment law. Her legal career began in insurance defense. Early on she had a solo practice consisting of civil litigation and criminal law while serving as house counsel to a commercial building contractor. She has a published opinion before the Second Appellate District for the State of California. She enjoys golfing, hiking, kayaking and skiing with her family.
